Drawing of a stable for horses
Where:
Manuscript B, folio 39.r Year: 1487-90

The folio, dating from 1487-1490, contains an ideal stable draughted on it, its architectural components marked with letters m-K-p-n-S-R-f-4-a-3456-b. They are described extensively in the note, in which Leonardo give accurate indications on how run a stable in order to ensure that it is kept clean and efficient. Such instructions are continued on the next page, 38 (it is commonly known that, when writing down his notes, Leonardo worked his way from the back of his note-book to the front and that he numbered his pages in that order before starting a new book).
