Didascalia: Manuscript
B, folio 49v
The folio contains three drawings in
pen and sepia ink: a large crane in a moat with wooden crates; a
slide with its load (not visible here); the plan of a ravelin (not
visible here). The drawing of the crane, which may be dated to between
1487 and 1490, bears the following inscription: Da votare fossi
"For emptying moats" (probably the moats of the Milan
Castle). The phrase da votare fosi has been reiterated on the drawing
by another writer.
