click to zoomIn his studies of city buildings, Leonardo imagines perpendicular streets, in order to make the city as practical as possible, in the same way used by Romans in their Empire centuries before. The situation of Milano at Leonardo times was very different: it was still in XV century a mediaeval city, with a round plan and with narrow and irregular streets, that were not only complicated, but also unhealthythem.
