Biography

Born in Milan in 1955, Fiorenzo Galli holds a degree in Political Economics and Finance from the Università degli Studi in Milan. He is married with two sons and is General Director of the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci since 2001. Officer of the Italian Alpine troops, he has a 20 year entrepreneurial experience in the electromechanic sector of his family business. He has held different roles in Confindustria and Assolombarda and was a member of the Executive Board and of the Presidential Committee and President of the lobby "Giovani Industriali" (Young Industrialists). He is member of the Committee and of the Board of the "Probiviri" of Assolombarda. He is part of the Scientific Board of the Interdepartmental Centre for Cultural Research and Services of the Università degli Studi in Milan. Here he teaches Development and Management of Cultural Heritage in the Faculty of Science and was awarded with a medal for Cultural Merits. He is member of the Italian Expert Committee for the Development of Scientific and Technological culture and is part of the Scientific Committee for the Diffusion of Scientific Culture of the Ministry of University and Research. He is a member of the ECSITE (European Collaborative for Science Industry and Technology Exhibitions) Board, of the Kuratorium of the Deutsche Museum in Munich of Bavaria and of many other Scientific committees. He is member of the "Design Jury" ADI (Industrial Design Association). He has been awarded with the "Premio Scientifico Capo d'Orlando". The award represents a public acknowledgement for those who work with great results in the field of the multidisciplinary research, in the dissemination and in scientific journalism, in museum management and in the enhancement of science through the web.
