Biography
Ignazio Tabacco is Professor of Applied Geophysics at the University of Milano. From 1970 to 1985 his research activity deals with geophysical prospection applied to hydrogeological analysis and with crust studies in Europe and North Africa. From 1985 till 1997 has been Professor of Geophysics at Luanda University A. Neto in Angola (Africa) where he developed hydrogeological researches. Member from 1988 of PNRA (National Project for Antarctic Researches) and actually Scientific Coordinator of the Italian Research Group for sub-glacial lakes. He join the European Project EPICA (European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica). He is a member of consortium SCAR-BEDMAP (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research – Antarctic Bedrock Mapping), and SCAR-SALE (Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research – Subglacial Antarctic Lake Environments).
