The Museum opens its doors to the entire city during the 24th General Conference of ICOM (International Council of Museums), taking place in Milan from 3 to 9 July 2016.
A special night to discover collections, experiment in interactive workshops and enjoy the evening in the sixteenth century monastery cloisters.

Immerse yourself in the world of the Enrico Toti submarine with its periscope, sonar and watertight chambers to experience the adventures of sailors. Discover the artistic techniques used in Leonardo da Vinci’s time or venture between new foods, DNA and other main ingredients of our diets.
Keynote lecture by Pietro Cesare Marani: Leonardo da Vinci and the unity of knowledge.

Live classical music, jazz and rock'n'roll, nineteenth-century and contemporary dance in the Rail Pavilion.
Special guest: Joe Victor with a pop, blues, gospel and American folk performance.

Professor Marani will hold a lectio magistralis presenting recent studies on Leonardo and on the conception of unitary knowledge. Second event of the cultural program linked to the exhibition Confluence,exploring the foundations of the unity of culture at the origin of the Museum’s establishment and of its contemporary mission.

"CONFLUENCE"

The climate system of the river Po basin represents a case study on the territory and offers an opportunity for a shared reflection among different fields of knowledge on the relation between man and environment. The exhibition stems from the project “Studying the future that already happened”, a project conceived by the Museum in collaboration with the Po Basin Authority, the Università degli Studi di Milano and the Università Milano Bicocca.

After 20 years, the great Triennale di Milano International Exposition is back.

On show until the 9th of October, 35 pictures taken by photographer Marco Lanza in the warehouses of major Italian museums. Among the portrayed museums is also our Museum, with more than 9000 square metres of storage spaces.

ITALIAN MONUMENTS ON SHOW

On show until the 4th of September, the winning pictures from the last Italian edition of Wiki Loves Monuments, the biggest photographic contest in the world, inviting everyone to photograph the cultural heritage of each one’s own country.
