There are a lot of extensive collections that do not feature on this site. They include:



Bicycles:
The land transport section also houses an impressive collection bicycles. These include velocipedes and velociferes, with unusually large front wheels, right up to modern day racing bikes.

Astrario del Dondi Astronomy:
The theme of this section is the development of the science of the celestial bodies, and of the scientific instruments to do with topography, geodesy, astronomy, chemistry and physics.
Photography&Cinema:
The science behind the camera obscura was well-known and studied as early as the 16th century. The earliest photograph dates back to 1826, the first film made by the Lumière brothers to 1895. The Museum houses a very large range of technical equipment and accessories pertaining to both cinema and photography.

Macchina rotativa Nebiolo Papermaking:
This section exploring the development of writing and printing is divided into four distinct areas: writing systems, typewriters, papermaking equipment, printing presses.
Factory Metalwork:
This section houses original machinery and dioramas, and shows manufacture processes that help turn back the clock to a time which saw the sudden acceleration of social, technical and economic development, and the rapid growth of industry, that is the 19th century.

Timekeeping has been man's concern since time immemorial. The need to measure time accurately led to the invention of precision timepieces. This section outlines a history of timekeeping instruments, from sundials to the present.
Sound and Musical Instruments:
The route around this section unwinds in three distinct rooms: the physical properties of sound; the craft of making musical instruments - featuring the full-size reconstruction of the workshop of a maker of stringed instruments -; musical instruments including the splendid organ by Giosue' Agati.

In the vast section on Land Transport, which includes cars and motorbikes, there is a large section set aside for fine, noble carriages, from travel models to agile city carriages.
