LEONARDO DA VINCI
The most important collection of historical models
The Museum exhibits one of the most important collections of historical models,
created on the basis of the study and interpretation of Leonardo da Vinci's drawings.
The collection was created more than half a century ago. It includes 130 elements of which 50 are on exhibit.
The models have been created by important scholars and model-makers.
This is why these objects - a product of extraordinary technical talent -
are unique not only in quantity but also in quality.
Now on show some long unexhibited pieces
The selection of models already on show is enriched by long unexhibited pieces:
- Multiple-cylinder mill
- Goldforging hammer
- Wing-beating device with a screw and lead screw system
- Adjustable-tilt wing
They represent yet another occasion to talk about the studies on Leonardo in Milan and to show the value and beauty of these creations.
The layout of the Leonardo Gallery shows the original project with which the exhibition was opened in 1953. A modernization of the texts, exhibition design and graphics makes it even more pleasant, safe and accessible.
