
These conditions apply to the entire content of the website under the domain www.museoscienza.org and to all forms of correspondence between the Museum and users, including newsletters or publications taken from the website or sent by the Museum.
The service that the website www.museoscienza.org offers users (hereinafter also referred to as the “User”) is provided by the Foundation of the National Museum of Science and Technology "Leonardo da Vinci" (hereinafter also referred to as “the Foundation” with head office in Via San Vittore 21, Milan according to the following General Conditions for the use of the website.
The Museum reserves the right to change at any time and without forewarning the General Conditions for the use of the website. The User may check at any time the valid text of the General Conditions as it is updated by the Museum on each separate occasion.
The Museum reserves the right to change or suspend all or some of the contents of the website at any time, including the availability of any service, database or content without prior notice.
All of the content, whether text, graphics or other content appearing in this website is the property of the Foundation and in some cases the property of third parties with whom the Foundation has specific agreements. The User undertakes not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, carry out framing*, resell and in any case not to exploit for commercial and/or publicity purposes the content of this website or any part of it, as well as the use or access to the site.
The User undertakes not to use the Service:
* Framing refers to the technique of including an external site, or a section of it, within an HTML frame layout so that the content is issued directly from the external site which is being cannibalised. In this way the other sections of the frame layout can be used to issue different content owned by the portal carrying out the framing.

Pursuant to the General Conditions of use, all those areas to which access is allowed without limitation to the majority of people are considered “areas of the Site accessible to the public”. By way of example, the area on the online exhibitions of the Cimeli project is an area of the Site that is accessible to the public. With regard to Content that the User adds to the areas accessible to the public or which consist of photographs, images or other graphics files which the User decides to add to the exhibitions “with paper and scissors”, the User grants the Foundation the universally valid, free and non-exclusive consent to reproduce, modify, adapt and publicise said Content on the Site, for the sole purpose of visualising the content that has been included.
The Foundation reserves the right to refuse access to the site or to any part of it at any time and for any reason without giving prior notice.
The Foundation reserves at any time and for any reason the right to remove from the site material that has been posted, uploaded or sent in any way without giving prior notice.
Security violations of the system or of the network are forbidden and could be subject to criminal and/or civil proceedings. The Foundation may investigate incidents regarding said violations and could involve and cooperate with the police force if it suspects a criminal violation.
The Foundation respects the privacy of its online visitors and undertakes to protect the privacy and safety of the users of its site. The privacy policy contains information on how the Foundation protects the User’s personal information. You are therefore invited to read the privacy policy carefully. This policy may be changed from time to time to adapt it to various questions and to changes in the site. All changes shall be published here. The Foundation undertakes not to sell, trade or communicate email addresses to companies or other organisations. The User undertakes to supply the personal information (“Registration Data”) requested during the registration process, ensuring that this information is up-to-date, complete and truthful; to update promptly and continuously the Registration Data so that it is always up-to-date, complete and truthful. If the User supplies information that is false, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, or if the Foundation believes, on the basis of its own discretionary assessment, that the information supplied is false, inaccurate, outdated or incomplete, the Foundation will in any case have the right to suspend, temporarily or definitively, the account of the User in question and to prevent him or her from using the site in any way subsequently.

Considering the global nature of Internet, the User undertakes to respect all the local regulations concerning online conduct and contents. The User undertakes to respect all applicable laws concerning the transmission of data and content exported from the country in which said user is resident.
The User declares and guarantees to hold harmless and release the Foundation as well as the parties connected to it or controlled by it, its representatives, employees and any of its partners from any compensatory obligation, including reasonable legal expenses, which may derive from the Contents transmitted or sent by the User, by the User’s use of the Service, by the User connecting to the Service, a violation of the rules regulating its use, a violation of the rights of third parties.

These General Conditions and relations between the Foundation and the User are regulated by the law of the Italian Republic. For any controversy inherent, deriving from or in any way connected to these General Conditions for the use of the Site or connected to the use of the Site, the Court of Milan shall have sole jurisdiction.
These General Conditions are the sole and exclusive agreement between the User and the Foundation and they regulate the use of the Site, overruling any agreement previously made between the User and the Foundation. Furthermore, the User must follow any General Conditions on the use of complementary services or services related to third party content or to the rules of use of third party software. The Foundation’s failure to exercise a right it has by law or under these General Conditions does not in any case imply its waiver of said right. Should one or more provisions of these General Conditions be declared invalid by the competent judge, the parties agree that the judge must in any case seek to maintain the effectiveness of the agreements between the parties, as specified in this agreement and the other General Conditions shall remain fully valid and effective to all effects.
