Mechanical loom

Telaio meccanico

This is second to the printing of letters and just as useful. It is worked by men, gives larger profits and it is a beautiful and clever invention.

Leonardo studies and describes many spinning and weaving machines. He draws an automatic loom in which all the movements for creating a piece of fabric are supplied by a single shaft moved by a crank.

The loom slid, 1495-1496
