Paddle Boat

Barca a pale

The model represents a study for a paddle propulsion boat. The traction-wheels measure about one arm and a half (approximately 90 cm) and are operated by two men. To increase the power of the rowers Leonardo designs cog-wheels and gears that multiply the number of revolutions of the paddles. According to his calculations, which overlook friction forces, the boat can reach a very high speed.
