In 2019 the Museum renews the historic Gallery inaugurated in 1953 and opens the new Leonardo Galleries that tell the work of Leonardo da Vinci as engineer and technologist. In this new permanent exhibition the extraordinary collection of models and other historical assets of the Museum are proposed in an immersive setting to describe and delve into Leonardo's thought and work method.
The New Leonardo Galleries present to the public the interpretation of Leonardo’ studies through narrative nuclei such as, for example, the historical context, the drawing, the military engineering, the studies on the flight and on the natural phenomena.
The exhibition aims to become an international point of reference involving visitors in the intellectual, physical and emotional dimension through the exploration of Leonardo's thought.
The New Leonardo Galleries and the rich cultural program that will accompany their preparation and opening are part of the Leonardo Global Initiative, an ambitious project aiming to develop a worldwide communication about the important legacy of Da Vinci’s work in a society based on science and innovation.
