Feast

The FEAST project contributes to the development of adult scientific literacy and fosters active citizenship on rapidly evolving science and technology scenarios. By developing and offering specific Workshops and Training Activities, FEAST helps science centres and museums devise methodologies for engaging adults with science and technology. FEAST also offers specific pedagogical tools for the professional development of museum educators useful for facilitating adult/lifelong learning in science and technology.

FEAST is a trans-national collaborative project funded by the European Commission under the Lifelong Learning Programme.

It aims to:

- Foster active citizenship through the development of scientific education.

- Provide strategies, methods and specific activities for engaging adults in science and technology.

- Ensure that adult parents have the confidence and tools to act as confident and knowledgeable science educators of their children.

- Develop the professional skills of museum adult educators in facilitating informal lifelong learning in science and technology, to effectively contribute to the on-going learning process of adult learners.

The project actions are the following:

- Five workshops and related activities on different scientific topics, enhancing knowledge in science and critical thinking of adults and enriching their competences as informal science educators of their children.

- An educational model for the workshops with related research materials on parent and adult learning.

- An international training course for Museum educators.

- An on-line hub for sharing project results and material creating an on-line parents and educators community.
