Networks and collaborations

The international relations area is aimed at creating the conditions for the Museum to hold an active role in the extended debate on museums, science and society, as well as promoting the Museumís activities, projects and model within the international community.

The Museum plays an active role since 2003 in the initiatives by Ecsite, the European Collaborative for Science, Industry and Technology Exhibitions.
Since 200 it coordinates and/or takes part in trans-national collaboration projects like SMEC, Hands-on & Brains-on and SEDEC, with the purpose of fostering science communication through informal education methods , professional development for teachers and museum staff, editorials and exchange of experiences.
Moreover, the Museum is making an effort to achieve two-way collaborations with other museums and science centers, aiming at a more specific exchange of competence and knowledge in the field of museolgy, museological education, communication, marketing and fundraising.

ECSITE

The Museum is a member of the organization which fosters the interaction between science and society, and it hosted its 20th edition in June 2009.

World Biotech Tour

Is a multi-year initiative involving science museums and science centers around the world with the aim of promoting biotechnologies and their applications through activities, meetings and debates with researchers and experts.
