Donnina di Milano

The “Little lady of Milan” or “Little Angel”

From March 9

Come and witness the restoration process of the “Donnina di Milano” (The “Little lady of Milan” or “Little Angel”), a sculpture by Marino Marini created between 1932 and 1933 and documented in the 1950s and 1960s in a famous reportage by photographer Mario De Biasi.
The project, funded by the Atlas Foundation, involves the Municipality of Milan – Museo del Novecento, the owner of the sculpture, and the Museum that for many years has been conducting special restorations thanks to its restorers in residence - the “Strati group”.
The Project involves also: the University of Milano-Bicocca leading the scientific studies; the Expotrans company for transportation; the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism with its preservation function; the Marino Marini Foundation for the evaluation of the consistency of the restoration.
