CREI

CREI was created at the Museum as a center of research, experimentation and practice of educational methods in the context of informal education.

CREI staff is supported by a committee comprising of international experts, and it commits to working for and with teachers and schools, in order to build experiences that contribute to developing the interest in science, technology and their consequences in everyday life.

Museum’s activities for training and professional development addressed to teachers offer:

  • A solid and scientifically appropriate knowledge, able to grant coherent and updated information
  • Laboratory practice, a place for knowledge and personal experience and activities that explore the limits and the meaning of the simplifications used in scientific and technological education.
  • Planning an exhibit
  • The valorization and historical dimension of knowledge, through the collections’ objects and the machines
  • Methods of explaining and the value of cognitive displacement, to foster the direct involvement and the personal reorganization of knowledge, to acquire the scientific method as interactive construction.
