The Museum for Families
The Museum is a great place to spend a fun-packed, exciting day while learning together, for adults and children alike.
At weekends, experiments and performances in the interactive laboratories let you experience hands-on science: build robots, make soap bubbles, do colour experiments or discover the collections through theatrical activities. Throughout the week you can attend concerts or take part in special events and festivals.
Weekend&Holidays
Experiments and guided activities in the sections and interactive laboratories invite visitors to experience science directly. Adults and children alike are guided through a discover of themes such as robotics, biotechnologies, telecommunications, as well as finding out the secrets of soap bubbles or electric phenomena. The activities take place during weekends and school holidays.
Theatre at the museum
Theatre performances and visits around the collections led by characters who made science history; activities for younger children and events to involve adults in the science debate. Passion, amazement and fun, encouraging visitors to get directly involved so they can discover and interpret our historic patrimony.
Exhibition
Our exhibitions narrate the history of science and technology and explore the frontiers of research and development. They complete and enrich the permanent displays and offer further opportunities to work and interact with institutions, corporations and associations.
Film festivals
The Museum also disseminates scientific and technological knowledge by producing and promoting film festivals. Professionally produced documentaries, films and TV shows from around the world, such as those in Conversazioni Video and the MiDoc Festival, are screened in the auditorium and other halls. The Milanesiana festival is one of the main cultural initiatives that the Museum is involved with.
leave a sign
For special occasions, the Museum offers visitors a chance to approach science through art. The activities are aimed at anyone wishing to explore the collections, find out about new themes in scientific research and get closer to science and technology in a creative way. Science and art come together in a unique experience, inspiring a personal interpretation of knowledge.
A night at the museum
An unforgettable experience can be had by spending a night in the Museum. Storytelling or role-plays help participants to discover exhibits and characters from history. This is aimed at children aged 6-12, accompanied by an adult.
